AnimalScan Assists After Oradell Explosion

Wed, May 20, 2015

After an explosion that shook the Veterinary Imaging Industry AnimalScan answers the cry for help.

On March, 6th 2015 a MRI scanner which had reached the end of its useful career was undergoing de-installation by a third party company from the east wing of Oradell Animal Hospital when tragedy struck.  A pressure explosion occurred as the result of the ice build-up on the cryogen vent.   Thankfully, none of the animals or hospital staff were injured, but this was now going to put Oradell in the position of being unable to serve their clients with MRI capabilities until construction of a new east wing was completed.

Coincidentally, Oradell was working with AnimalScan CEO, James Stuppino on the purchase of a new magnet. He assisted with the investigation with OSHA and consulted on the safe de-installation of the destroyed scanner.

In the end Oradell hardly missed a beat as an AnimalScan loaner scanner was immediately installed.  Now, they may continue to serve their patients until AnimalScan installs their new 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Avanto 18-channel system later this summer.
